Cutting (preferably prior to glazing) and edge grinding + 20%

Additional costs for custom tiles (No stove discounts apply to these prices):

  • adjustment of a new glaze colour: EUR 300. No additional tiles delivered free of charge for custom colour orders. Any production surplus up to a maximum of 10% of the total order value is handed over and charged.
  • Hand painting and gilding: according to individual agreement.
  • Handcrafted and CNC sampling of custom tile designs: EUR 300 – 600. The plaster moulds required for serial production are also charged.

Computer aided visualisation drawing: EUR 30 – 60.

Quality specification:

Only premium grade tiles are sold. These may only contain tiny, point defects not visible from a distance greater than 60 cm.

Colours and their uniformity: The colours and textures of the tiles are identical with the sample handed over in a wooden case. Any colours on printed and electronic images are for informative purposes only.
Neighbouring tiles of a stove or fireplace may not show visible hue difference. It must be avoided that all tiles and their lower and higher points be of identical hue, resembling a painted surface. The hue differences corresponding to the layer thickness differences of the higher and lower points give the appearance and texture characteristic of ceramic surfaces. In case of glazes showing particularly marked hue differences (e.g. the ‘textured’ glaze range), a comparison between an ordinary tile without features and a heavily featured one must be made. Failure to do so may entail a number of inconveniences, for which the manufacturer bears no responsibility.

Glaze cracks: The probability of cracking of the glaze has been brought to a minimum, by optimising the raw materials and glazes applied. The back of the tile is hotter during heating, and therefore expands more than the air-cooled glazed face. There is always some tension developing between the glaze and the substrate tile. Glaze cracking appears sooner or later, depending on the maximum temperature, the duration of use and the type of glaze. Sating gloss glazes are the least likely to crack. They have a degree of flexibility and therefore may remain uncracked for decades. Micro-cracks in the glass-like, transparent potter glazes (green, blue, yellow, brown and maroon) are permitted on new tiles as well.

Ordering, packaging and delivery:

Orders should be sent via e-mail.

All orders are confirmed via e-mail. An approval of the confirmation via e-mail is also requested. Manufacturing of the tiles cannot begin without this confirmation.
Manufacturing is executed according to the approved confirmation.

Delivery deadline: 30 days for general cases. If technical circumstances permit, 10 day express delivery deadlines are also undertaken at a surcharge of 15%. If the order also includes new tile decoration designs or colours, the delivery deadline may be as long as 90 days.

Shipping: The shipping charge is 4% of the value of the tiles to countries of the European Union within 700 km from Budapest, but not less than EUR 60 per pallet.

Other deliveries are quoted individually.
In a general case, shipment is undertaken by a haulier from the manufacturing plant to the Customer.

Packaging: In carton boxes of 20 – 35 kg with corrugated paper partitioning, shrink-wrapped on pallets. A charge of EUR 9 per EUR-pallet is applied.

Building recommendations:

Building without grout lines is not recommended. If built properly, the tiles of a heated stove may shortly be touched by hand.
The newly completed stove should be dried and heated gently, but within 10 days. If longer time is taken, the moisture content of the clay mortar may cause swelling of the tiles. This swelling and the temperature difference described earlier will cause cracking of the glaze. Such cracking is invisible on an already cracked potter glaze, but may be very easy to spot on a light glaze surface, e.g. on white tiles.

Warranty:

5 years from handover. Kindly indicate any observed defects before building the stove. Demolition and reconstruction costs are not borne by the manufacturer for complaints raised after completion of the stove.

Occasional tile defects are most often caused by mechanical effects, e.g. impact or overheating. Overheating is indicated by the embrittlement of the grouting material that retains its flexibility up to 180 °C. If the heating of the tile cannot be assessed due to lack of flexible grouting material, the manufacturer bears no responsibility for the cracking. Cracking of the tiles due to overheating is not a manufacturing defect; it may be due to improper workmanship or faulty stove operation.

ECO stove tiles:

Cutting of the ECO stove tiles before glazing is not possible as the technology does not include biscuit firing. Cutting of the glazed tiles is undertaken upon request at a surcharge of 20%.

Adjustment of individual colours, sampling, painting or gilding of custom tile shapes are only undertaken in case of large orders (at a minimum value of EUR 10,000).
